Swedish Principal Visits City of Dublin FET College to Strengthen Erasmus+ Ties

On Wednesday, 21st February 2024, City of Dublin FET College, Ballyfermot Road, Southwest Campus proudly welcomed a visiting college principal from Sweden as part of the Erasmus+ programme. The visit fostered international collaboration and exchange between Irish and Swedish vocational education and training institutions.

The Swedish guest was warmly received by the college’s senior leadership team: Principal Cecilia Munro, Deputy Principals Dr. Denis Murray and Kenneth Rea. The meeting showcased the college’s commitment to quality education, student support, and international partnerships.

A key highlight of the visit was a presentation delivered by Erasmus+ Coordinator Caroline McKenna Cooper and Guidance Counsellor Anne Marie Lyons. The presentation introduced the college’s diverse student body, wide range of programmes across six faculties—including music, journalism, television, film, and media—and strong progression routes to employment and higher education. The Swedish delegate was particularly interested in the college’s dynamic development strategy, commitment to staff CPD, and the integration of transversal skills within vocational training.

This Erasmus+ engagement reflects the college’s ongoing efforts to expand international networks and share best practices in further education. The visit further strengthens the ties between Swedish and Irish educational institutions, with future collaboration already in discussion.
