We were delighted to visit BMK Hamburg — Berufliche Schule für Medien und Kommunikation — as part of an Erasmus+ Preparatory Visit focused on developing future cooperation between BMK and City of Dublin FET College, Ballyfermot.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about BMK’s educational programmes, international activities and current priorities in vocational education and training. It also allowed us to explore shared areas of curriculum interest and to begin the concrete planning of a new Erasmus+ partnership.
During the visit, we had very productive discussions with Nele Bauer and Lennart Hoffmann on the potential for future collaboration between our colleges. Together, we explored a range of exciting possibilities for both learner and staff mobility, including job shadowing opportunities and joint projects that will support international exchange, professional learning and creative collaboration.
Potential areas for future cooperation include Content Creation, Social Media and Life Drawing, with the aim of creating meaningful learning experiences for students and teachers in both Hamburg and Dublin.
Many thanks to Nele, Lennart and the wider team at BMK Hamburg for the warm welcome, the open and inspiring exchange, and the commitment to developing the next steps in this partnership. We look forward to working together and building strong Erasmus+ opportunities for our college communities.
