At City of Dublin FET College, Ballyfermot Road, Southwest Campus, Erasmus+ isn’t just about travelling—it’s about discovering your potential. Coordinated by Kenneth Rea and Caroline McKenna Cooper, our Erasmus+ programme offers students a chance to gain real-world experience, develop professional skills, and grow personally through funded work placements across Europe.
Each year, students from a range of disciplines—including Animation, Games Design, Visual Effects, Business, Music Production, Hospitality, Radio and Illustration—take part in short-term Erasmus+ mobilities with our partner organisations in Finland, Spain, Malta, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Germany.
Real World Experience
These placements are designed to connect what you learn in the classroom to the real world. You’ll work alongside professionals, develop technical skills, and gain insight into how your industry operates across different cultures and systems. But that’s only half the story. What makes Erasmus+ truly powerful is the opportunity to build transversal skills—core personal and interpersonal competencies that help you succeed in any setting.
During your placement, you will develop:
Adaptability by navigating new environments, cultures, and work practices
Self-confidence by living independently and taking on real responsibility
Communication through teamwork and cross-cultural collaboration
Problem-solving by managing challenges in unfamiliar surroundings
Empathy and cultural awareness by working with people from diverse backgrounds
TRansformative
Skills For Life
These skills are recognised by employers across every industry and are essential for success in today’s fast-changing job market. More importantly, they’re skills for life.
Erasmus+ is also about broadening your perspective. You’ll return with not just new abilities, but a deeper understanding of your own potential, more clarity about your future, and often a new sense of purpose. Many of our students describe the experience as “transformative,” and a number go on to pursue further study, start businesses, or work abroad.
Whether you’ve travelled before or this will be your first time abroad, Erasmus+ is an inclusive, supported opportunity for all. As your Erasmus+ Coordinators, we are here to guide you at every stage—from application and pre-departure preparation, to staying safe and supported during your placement, to helping you reflect and showcase your new skills when you return.
If you’re ready to experience what learning can look like beyond the classroom, gain international experience, and build the skills to create your future, Erasmus+ is for you.

Don’t take our word for it…
All students are encouraged and if taking part in a mobility required to complete the feedback questionnaire in addition to the questionnaire from the EU Commission.
Pre-Mobility Students (Students who have attained a place on a mobility)
Post-Mobility Students (All post-mobility students must complete this form)
The purpose of this feedback form is to help the college ascertain students’ thoughts and questions at pre-application, pre-selection, pre-mobility and more importantly gather feedback from students on the knowledge and skills acquired, which will assist in post-mobility dissemination to the college community.
