A Ballyfermot Road Southwest Campus Project

FET Ballyfermot Road Students Take on Germany with Erasmus+ at the International Band & Business Camp

Imagine spending a week in Germany, collaborating with musicians and industry professionals from across the world—all fully funded by Erasmus+! That’s exactly what students from the college’s Music Performance, Music Production, and Media Production Management courses recently experienced at the International Band & Business Camp (IBBC) in Hammelburg.

Held at the Bavarian Music Academy, this prestigious camp brought together artists from Ireland, the UK, the USA, Germany, and the Netherlands. Under the guidance of international mentors, FET Ballyfermot Road students worked intensively to write, produce, and rehearse original music, culminating in a live showcase in front of an audience.

But IBBC wasn’t just about performing—it was about stepping into the real music industry. While musicians refined their craft, business students trained as artist managers and label executives, gaining hands-on experience in networking, project management, and strategic planning. The camp provided a real-world taste of working in the music business, helping students build the skills and confidence to take their careers to the next level.

Beyond the workshops and rehearsals, the experience fostered deep international connections. Students from different backgrounds came together, sharing musical influences, jamming late into the night, and creating bonds that will last long after the camp. Hammelburg’s picturesque setting made the perfect backdrop for cultural exchange and creative collaboration.

Thanks to Erasmus+ funding, students had this life-changing experience at no cost, proving that opportunities like these can open doors to the global music industry. The college is proud to support students in gaining international experience, expanding their careers, and making lifelong connections through music.
