Ballyfermot College Students Shine in Helsinki Social Media Seminar

A group of students from Ballyfermot College recently embarked on an incredible journey to Helsinki, Finland, where they participated in an engaging and thought-provoking seminar on social media. Hosted in collaboration with Helsinki Business School, the seminar provided an enriching experience, allowing students to explore the ever-evolving world of digital influence while connecting with their Finnish peers.

The seminar featured two standout sessions: Clout is Currency and World’s Best Brain Injury Patient, both of which left a lasting impact on the students. These sessions delved into the power of social media, its influence on branding and personal identity, and how it can be used to create meaningful change. The inspirational discussions encouraged students to think critically about the digital landscape and how they can harness its potential in their future careers.

Throughout the week, the Ballyfermot College students collaborated seamlessly with their counterparts from Helsinki Business School. Together, they exchanged ideas, participated in interactive workshops, and gained valuable insights into the cultural and academic experiences of students studying on Erasmus in Finland. The exchange of perspectives fostered a dynamic learning environment, strengthening the students’ understanding of global business and digital marketing strategies.

Beyond the seminars, the students had the opportunity to explore Helsinki, immersing themselves in the city’s vibrant culture and innovative atmosphere. Their engagement, enthusiasm, and teamwork throughout the trip truly showcased the spirit of Ballyfermot College.

This week in Helsinki was not just an academic endeavor—it was an unforgettable experience filled with learning, collaboration, and inspiration. The students returned to Dublin with new knowledge, meaningful connections, and a deeper appreciation for the global impact of social media.
