A Ballyfermot Road Southwest Campus Project

Pack Less. Mean More. Introducing the Erasmus+ Hoodie for June 2024

As we prepare to send another vibrant cohort of students abroad this June 2024 on Erasmus+ mobilities, the college is excited to launch a new initiative that combines sustainability, identity, and student pride — branded Erasmus+ hoodies.

These hoodies aren’t just about looking good; they represent a commitment to sustainability and belonging that aligns with the values of both our college and the wider Erasmus+ programme.

Why Hoodies? Why Now?

Sustainable Travel Essentials

Students on short-term mobilities often need practical, multi-purpose clothing. A warm, durable hoodie reduces the need for last-minute fast fashion purchases and serves as a versatile layer for flights, cool evenings, and group outings.

Promoting Reuse and Longevity These are not single-use items. Erasmus+ hoodies are designed to last, encouraging students to wear them throughout their mobility — and long after — as a reminder of their international learning experience.

Ethical and Eco-friendly Materials The hoodies are made from ethically sourced fabrics, including recycled polyester and organic cotton, to ensure our hoodies are as environmentally conscious as the students wearing them.

Fostering Erasmus+ Identity and Community  Wearing the same branded hoodie helps build a sense of team spirit among participants. It creates visibility for Erasmus+ on campus and signals to the wider community that these students are part of something transformative and European.

Sustainability in Action This small initiative supports a bigger picture: embedding sustainability into all aspects of student life — including what we wear. It’s a tangible way to demonstrate our college’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and the ethos of the FET College of the Future.

As students prepare for placements across Europe this summer, the Erasmus+ hoodie will serve as a practical and symbolic companion — one that keeps them warm, united, and proud of where they’ve come from and where they’re going.
